Here we go! We’re turning over a new leaf, and everyone here at the all-new KRFC 88.9 FM Radio Fort Collins couldn’t be more thrilled! Since 2003, we’ve been offering up an eclectic mix of music and local on-air volunteers sharing their passion for music with the community they love. And while our devotion to good music and our Northern Colorado community are still at the crux of everything we do, we decided that we needed a bit of a fresh look and some new perspective.

Community Engagement
We live in a community unlike any other. The culture of Fort Collins and Northern Colorado is brimming with music, art, talent, family, education, opinions, inclusivity, and beauty, and we want to showcase and uphold all of these. As the all-new KRFC 88.9 FM Radio Fort Collins, we will be traveling all around our lovely community visiting and airing live from CSU’s Canvas Stadium, Odell Brewing, and Washington’s, to name a few. We’re also excited to begin production on a new music show called “Around Town,” in which we feature live shows from a variety of music venues throughout the area.
Not only do we plan on engaging in live music shows at a number of venues, but the purpose of increased community engagement is to be able to have a running dialogue with our listeners. We want to engage at events and with people like you so that we can continue staying relevant to our community.
We also work hand-in-hand with an array of local non-profits. It’s important to us that we speak to our community and through our community by giving back and supporting non-profits that are truly making a difference in Northern Colorado and beyond.
Thoughtful and Entertaining Programming
From new to classic, from blues to bluegrass, there is an eclectic mix of music interests represented in our community, and we want to share each of these. We have an amazing lineup of unique programs—over 60 live shows a week—presented by local volunteers. Not only do we support our local Colorado musicians, but we also want to expose our listeners to amazing music from around the world. From brand new tracks to oldies but goodies, we’re dialed into your music preferences.
In addition to our vast array of music, we’re also a non-commercial station that is committed to sharing factual, informative, and positive local news. We’re committed to covering events, culture, arts, music, family, education, community changes, and lifestyle.

What truly sets us apart from other Colorado public radio stations is that we play more live and local music than any other station. We’re not corporate. We’re truly community-owned and community-based. So what exactly does that mean? It means we’re able to play what you really want to hear. Not only that but if you’d like to have your own show, we want to give you that opportunity! We pride ourselves on our open door policy. You can literally walk in with your idea, go through our training for free, and have your very own show on KRFC 88.9 FM Radio Fort Collins. We’re truly a playground for local music lovers.
And get this, we’re not only local community-based, but we also stream worldwide. We have a dedicated and enthusiastic listenership outside of our terrestrial signal and around the globe. Our vision is to be recognized as a respected voice of the community and beyond, creating a sense of place through excellent radio programming.
