We’re two months into KRFC’s MusicShare. While the cold white snow falls in downtown Fort Collins, we’re listening to music from local musicians getting ready for SXSW music festival in Austin, TX. Follow our coverage here and on Twitter.
Today’s MusicShare Artist, Justin Roth has toured with John Gorka and opened for some of KRFC’s favorite singer/songwriters, including Shawn Colvin, Martin Sexton, Darrell Scott, and David Wilcox. His guitar playing has earned him shared stages with some of the greatest fingerstyle players of today, such as Tommy Emmanuel, Andy McKee, Billy McLaughlin, California Guitar Trio and Pat Donohue. Roth’s fan-funded fourth solo album, Now You Know, which he recorded, produced, played and sang every single note himself in his home studio, was recently voted as one of the Top 100 Folk Albums of 2011 by Roots Music Report.
“Fans of Leo Kottke or Michael Hedges will find themselves right at home with [Roth’s] intricate guitar work…beautifully written lyrics.”– San Francisco Art Magazine
After the last seven years of constant self-promoted nationwide touring, singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist, Justin Roth, needed a change. Calling on his fans for help, he stepped off the road and retreated to the foothills of Colorado to a small home equipped with a wood burning stove, no internet access, no cell service, and a small amount of recording equipment to write and record his long-awaited new album, Now You
Know. Here is the title track for you to download and share.
Please note that downloads offered via KRFC MusicShare are intended to introduce you to great talent in KRFC’s community, and are NOT CD-quality recordings. If you want those, please support the artists by buying their music and/or seeing them live.
If you’re in a band or are a musician looking to share your music, email your tracks to Andrew [at] krfcfm [.] org for consideration.
