Join Michael as he welcomes Al Bricker as his guest on Side A of The FlipSide. A life-long music fan, Al has attended 28 of the past 50 New Orleans Jazz Festivals. After attending the festival for many years (and after a few margaritas at the Rio), Al was inspired to start his own music festival right here in Northern Colorado. After a bit of a rocky start 15 years ago, the Greeley Blues Jam has become a huge success! At just north of 70, Al’s love of live music is as strong as ever, attending 5-7 live shows a month. Among other things, you’ll hear how he got turned on to the blues, his brief turn as a roadie, what Elvin Bishop is really like, and how to get a deal on some slightly used sod!
