Judeth Shay Burns (Sally|Follies)
Judeth Shay Burns (Sally), soprano, has received critical acclaim for her portrayals of operatic and musical theatre heroines. Recent performances include guest soloist for the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s Colorado Christmas Concert (telecast live on CBS Channel 4 from Boettcher Hall), Central City Opera Community Concert tours, Mozart Concert Arias with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, selections from Kirk Meecham’s John Brown for the Opera America National Convention, David Crumb’s Hearing Bells for the Colorado College New Music Symposium, and a guest recital for the Lamont School of Music (University of Denver). She reprised the title role in The Ballad of Baby Doe at the historic Tabor Opera House in Leadville. In addition, Ms. Burns has performed with Central City Opera, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Opera Colorado, Opera Theatre of the Rockies, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Santa Fe Symphony, the St. Barts Music Festival in the French West Indies, the Landmark Festival in London, and a European tour with the Mid-America Choir. She has received critical acclaim for her performances as Susannah in the Marriage of Figaro, Violetta in La Traviata, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Adele in Die Fledermaus; and the title role in the The Ballad of Baby Doe. Her concert/oratorio repertoire includes: Samuel Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915, the Brahms Requiem, Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate, the Bachianas Brasillieros, and Carmina Burana. She has performed as a back-up singer for Sarah Brightman and appeared in Master Classes with Regine Crespin, Hakan Hagegard and Steven Blier. Ms. Burns is a graduate of the Mannes College of Music and the University of Colorado. She has studied and performed with the Aspen Music Festival and at the Circle in the Square in New York City. An advocate for arts education, she was recently named as a teaching artist for Central City Opera. She is a member of the Colorado College Studio Faculty in Colorado Springs.
Jennifer De Dominici (Hattie|Follies)
Jennifer De Dominici (Hattie), mezzo soprano, enjoys an active career that spans musical theater, opera, and concert work. Her favorite roles include Carmen in Carmen, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Siebel in Faust, 3rd Secretary in Nixon in China (available on the Naxos label), Maria in The Sound of Music, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, Nellie Forbush in South Pacific, and Claudia in Nine. Other career highlights include soloist work with the Cleveland Pops, various roles with Opera Colorado, Santa Fe Opera’s Apprentice Artist Program, EPCASO in Oderzo, Italy, first-place winner of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Auditions, NATS Singer of the Year, and a four-time Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
