Submit Music to KRFC

KRFC 88.9FM is a champion of independent music, letting our volunteer DJs explore new and old music in our library to play the mix they love. Like many Community Radio stations, KRFC uses mostly CDs on LIVE radio but accepts digital submissions too. Artists submitting CDs are more likely to get air time.

KRFC currently has shows that play the following genres of music:
Rock, Soul and R&B, Classic Rock, Jazz, Funk, Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, Alt-Rock, post-punk, Singer-Songwriter, Classical, Celtic, Blues, Zydeco, and Reggae

We have around 70 volunteer DJs on air each week, not a small group of paid DJs who are required to play specific songs. Showing off the visual art for your release is much more intriguing to a DJ than text in a spreadsheet. So even producing a small number of CDs for a regional radio campaign can go a long way in getting played on non-commercial radio.

Whether submitting digital tracks or a CD, include a one sheet with the following information:

• Artist’s name
• Genre and “Spin if you like” information
• Bio and short release story/album info, hometown, and state
• Song titles and run times are very helpful on CDs and one sheet
• Identify the tracks you think we will like
• Upcoming concert dates in the region
